Waiting for Warlords: progress report, 2014-09-01

In Whilst we wait for Warlords I listed a few of the things I’d be working on before Warlords drops.

Progress report update!

Hunter pets I tamed on of the primal direhorn hatchlings with a nice blue / yellow skin. Instead of killing it for its giant bones!
9,999 bones Up 1,050 bones to 2,362 / 9,999
The primal egg which was waiting to hatch last time ended being a mount I already had. I’ve got another primal egg waiting to turn into another mount I’ve already got!
Seeker of Knowledge Completed 2014-08-30
I am so glad this is over as it was a very grindy achievement. I’ve posted about it on I sought Knowledge and found it; the TL;DR of that is it took 955 mogu and pandaren artifacts to complete it
Brawler’s Guild No change
Bloody Coins Up 41 coins to 252/500
Sky shard farming

Gently poked for a single potion of luck’s duration – unsurprisingly, nothing dropped!

This was mostly to use up some Ancient Guo-Lai Cache Keys – which also reminded me that on my completionist main I still needed some of the recipes which can come from the Guo-Lai caches in the Vale.

Mount farming No new mounts; currently at 221 mounts

I’ve killed quite a few Zandalari Warbringers, but I’ve not had any more mounts drop. Now I’m not running around Pandaria digging up the past on my priest I’m using my hunter to handle the warbringers. Strangely enough, its much easier on my BM hunter than a shadowpriest!

I’ve had many chats with Bloodlord Mandokir in Zul’Gurub this week on various characters. Unfortunately he doesn’t want to accept “If you give me your mount, I’ll stop visiting you” as a good enough reason to hand over the raptor. I have found that my 492 ilvl rogue who normally handles my auctions can solo Mandokir. I should probably try with my neglected shaman at some point as well!

Gold making 975,000g; up 17,800g
Spent ~2,000g on Pandaren Pottery Shards to help along the Seeker of Knowledge achievement – using keystones with archeology really speeds things up!
Monk to 90 Nothing done
Horde to 90 Nothing done
Poke Hearthstone Nothing done
Poke Proving Grounds Nothing done

Seeker of Knowledge; I did this fairly early on in Mists. It was grindy but less so than trying to complete all TolVir solves, which I still have not managed.

Brawler’s Guild. I gave up on Hexos, rank 9 opponent. My gear is a lot better now but meh. Why does this guy even exist?

Mount farming: I had a target of getting 200 mounts before WoD. Having got 199 I decided to make the Depleted Kyparium Rocket for 200. Low and behold whilst killing Zanadaris I unexpectedly got the last mount I needed from those, so that stole my Rocket’s thunder so to speak. The Mandokir mount was my 199th. I got that after 140+ daily visits.

Bloody Coins; I’m doing a bit better than you, I’m on 370ish. Not bad for a healer. I think I am giving up on these once I get 500 and can buy the mount.

Proving grounds; I’m happy with how I did – Silver on dps, silver on tank, and Proven Healer for healing (wave 56 endless). Considering I have never played a tank ever I was quite amazed to have done so well. I got to about wave 7 in gold, too!

I got the last Tol’Vir rare I needed – the mount – whilst doing Seeker. And then did a load of Troll as well whilst chasing Zin’Rokh!

I’m currently at 221 mounts – the 250 mount achievement being added in Warlords calls to me!

I’m doing collecting the Bloody Coins on my frost mage – which does make it a little easier to do :)
